Tandem: A Tale of Shadows – The review
Monochrome Paris studio released the game Tandem: A Tale of Shadows on many media on October 21, 2021. As Halloween approaches, the developers are offering us a game with a great atmosphere. Gloomy in a Victorian era of the 19th century. The game is presented as a platformer where you control two characters to advance to the exit of each tableau.
I enjoyed playing it and discover the story after finishing each chapter. I really appreaciate how fine the enygmas were.
Through the 45 levels of the game, our little friends will therefore make their way through the mansion. Through the gardens, the library, the kitchen or the performance hall. Through these different universes, it is possible for us to discover the history of the game. In addition, it is a very particular way since the sections of the lore are presented by means of illustrations hidden in certain levels. By finding these famous paintings, dialogues are triggered justifying the story and the scenario of Tandem.
Through the five different chapters, the game offers us different gameplay elements to vary the pleasures. We will therefore switch, for example, on the first level, to shadow management only. To then add mobile elements to it via a liquid flowing in a pipe and so on. Special mention also to the kitchen asking to control blobs by doing whatever they want. Each end of the chapter is then punctuated by a validation of achievements and even a boss (but we will not tell you where, of course).
