Cyberpunk 2077 – Review on PS5

Thanks to CD Projekt Red for allowing us to review a copy of this version. This is a sponsored article and the review is a honest one from our testers.

While update 1.5 was released on February 15, Cyberpunk 2077 made the headlines again for the release of this long-awaited next-gen update. CD Projekt Red‘s latest game, Cyberpunk 2077, was released in a version that was worthy of the game’s quality, but now the Brits at Digital Foundry offer us their analysis of the update 1.5 of the game. Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.5 has arrived to improve the overall state of the game, especially from a graphical point of view, since it is available for a week on the Xbox Series X and PS 5.
The original version of Cyberpunk 2077 had two graphics modes on Series X: Performance, and Quality. In its Quality mode, Cyberpunk 2077 had a resolution between 1512p and 1728p in 30 FPS, while the Series X had a resolution between 1512p and 1296p.
The Xbox Series S version can now run between 1296p and 1440p at 30 constant frames per second.

Quality mode has been replaced by Raytracing mode, but both graphics modes are still available for the Series X version. It’s specificity? Better quality is offered in terms of shading and rendering of interiors. The difference outdoors is not as obvious. A smoothing and antialiasing system is offered in this Ray tracing mode. In Performance mode, patch 1.5 shows its qualities since the game offers 60FPS with rare drops around 50FPS in a range between 1382p and 1728p.

The Cyberpunk 2077 experience on these next-gen consoles is more interesting due to these improvements and increased traffic.

Regular updates from CD Projekt Red will make Cyberpunk 2077 more beautiful and enjoyable. You can get a 5 hour free trial on both consoles.

What We Think
It has always been pretty good, not great or perfect, but one of the most enjoyable games to come out for a while. There are many different builds to choose from, focusing on different play styles like poison knife throwing insta-kill katana stealth ninja to double barrel shotgun wielding hit and run hacker and everything in between. The vehicles aren't as bad to drive now, they don't feel as clunky as before, and the new view angles are good for most cars. A lot of balancing changes, like buffs to a lot of skills, that were useless before, and nerfs to some of the mechanics that made the game too easy, have been made.

I am passionate about “Heroic Fantasy” and “Beat Them all” games on Nintendo Game System (I hate SEGA). Now that I am old, I love retro gaming, since I don’t have much time. Feels good to watch endings though…
